MANAGERIAL LEVEL
The Certified Forensic Accountant (CFA) programme is professionally structured into three progressive levels designed to equip students with theoretical knowledge, investigative competence, analytical skills, and practical forensic accounting expertise.
Each level is carefully designed to prepare candidates for higher professional responsibilities in forensic accounting, auditing, fraud examination, digital investigations, taxation, compliance, and financial intelligence.

1. Forensic Audit Investigations and Assurance
This course provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in forensic auditing, financial investigations, and assurance engagements within corporate and public sector environments. The course focuses on fraud detection, investigative procedures, audit evidence, risk assessment, internal controls, and professional assurance practices.
Students will develop competencies in identifying financial irregularities, conducting forensic investigations, evaluating audit findings, and preparing professional investigative and assurance reports. The course also emphasizes ethical conduct, accountability, and the role of forensic auditors in strengthening organizational governance and financial integrity.
2. Natural Resources Accounting and Cross-Border Taxation
This course introduces students to accounting and taxation issues relating to natural resources, multinational operations, and cross-border transactions. The course examines revenue management, resource accounting, taxation of extractive industries, transfer pricing, and international tax compliance within global business environments.
Students will gain an understanding of financial reporting and taxation challenges associated with natural resource industries such as mining, oil, and gas. The course also explores international taxation principles, tax avoidance risks, and regulatory frameworks governing cross-border financial activities and revenue administration.
3. Systems Audit & Data Analytics
This course provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in systems auditing, information systems controls, and data analytics within modern organizational and forensic environments. The course focuses on the evaluation of computerized systems, IT governance, cybersecurity controls, audit procedures, and the application of analytical tools in detecting irregularities, operational weaknesses, and fraud risks.
Students will develop competencies in systems audit planning, data-driven analysis, digital reporting, and technology-based audit techniques relevant to forensic accounting, financial investigations, and organizational risk management.
4. Managerial Accounting and Finance
This course provides students with knowledge and practical understanding of managerial accounting and financial management principles used in organizational planning, control, and decision-making. The course focuses on budgeting, cost analysis, financial planning, performance evaluation, and financial decision-making in both private and public sector organizations.
Students will develop analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for evaluating financial performance, managing organizational resources, and supporting strategic management decisions. The course also highlights the role of managerial accounting and finance in improving efficiency, accountability, and organizational sustainability.
5. Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, and E-Commerce
This course introduces students to the concepts and practices of cybersecurity, digital forensics, and electronic commerce within modern digital environments. The course examines cyber threats, digital crimes, electronic transactions, data protection, and investigative procedures used in handling digital evidence and cyber-related incidents.
Students will gain practical knowledge of cybersecurity principles, digital investigation techniques, and the risks associated with online business activities and electronic commerce systems. The course also emphasizes legal, ethical, and regulatory issues relating to digital environments and cybercrime management.
6. Forensic Issues in Public Financial Management
This course examines forensic and accountability issues within public financial management systems and government institutions. The course focuses on public sector financial administration, budgeting, procurement, internal controls, financial irregularities, corruption risks, and accountability mechanisms.
Students will develop an understanding of the challenges affecting transparency, financial reporting, and resource management in the public sector. The course also explores forensic approaches to investigating public financial misconduct, strengthening accountability systems, and promoting good governance in public institutions.
